Worked great although could use some improvements. Make the bucket gap about an inch wider to acomodate worn bucket leading edges and add 12 to 18 inches of width with 6 inch longer spears on the ends for better stability on the big bales. Bales want to tip sideways with the smaller spears if you are even slightly off dead center. Other than that they work great.

I was impressed with the weight and strength of this bale spear. The entire assembly weighs about 85 pounds, and it comes with a really nice chain and ratchet binder which can be used for lots of other things too. Once you get used to it, this can be installed in about 3 minutes. I put it on a John Deere 4044M to move 4 x 5ft round bales, which are about 800 pounds each or so. Be careful, though: between the round bale and this attachment, you're hanging about 900 pounds of weight which is centered 2 feet IN FRONT of your bucket, not IN the bucket. For my tractor, that's the equivalent of about 2,100 lbs of additional front axle weight, and it cantilevers about 1,200 lbs off the rear axle. If you don't have at least 600-800 lbs of rear ballast, you're going to lift your rear tires off the ground and be in trouble real quick. I have a 650 lb brush hog which balances the weight pretty well.
