Excellent Decision, Excellent Mower... Meh Packaging

I searched for a couple of months, reading reviews and researching capabilities. In the end, I purchased the Titan finishing mower due to price and experience with other Titan products. The mower has NOT let me down. I use it to mow 8 acres on a 10 day (or so) rotation, and it leaves the grass looking like it was professionally done. The only complaint I have is the packaging. When the unit arrived, the pallet it was on had shattered, but most of the wood was still wire-tied to the product. There were extra parts (I assume someone could write that they did not receive the arms to attach the mower to the upper connection), and the deflector shield was bent in several places. My son and I used clamps and sweat to get it close enough to bolt on, and it works like a champ. Make sure to check all Bolts / Nuts after an hour or so of use. Even better, drop down to your local hardware store and purchase some nylon locking nuts. I lost near EVERY bolt on the connection points at about 90 minutes in, even after tightning down solid. I would absolutely buy this again if I needed another finish mower. At roughly half the cost of similar items, the bent shield and dirt is well worth it. Couldn't be happier with the decision to purchase here!

Heavy duty construction. miscellaneous issues with assembly. Make sure you tighten all nuts and bolts. The spacers for the depth of cut are a joke. I had to buy some quality spacers and washers at Tractor supply to use in order for the wheel assembly posts to rotate easily and track with the mower when following the tractor. I'm using a larger tractor so wish I had a 72" or 84" version of this. The blades needed sharpening at the start. You need a very thin 1 1/16" open end wrench to hold the shaft when tightening the blades. Once all the little annoying things were accounted for the mower works well and does a fine job of cutting. I would buy it again. Good product for the price but just be prepared to spend a little time and pocket change to get it set up right initially.

The mower itself is great.

The mower itself is great. 4 stars because of the packaging when it arrived it was missing several parts. I looked the missing pieces up and requested the parts from customer service, and they got back to me quickly and said the parts were unavailable and they would ship a whole new unit. Luckily I had not shipped the original back yet because the replacement was also missing parts. Between the two of them I was able to put together a good machine!

A solid finishing mower

The assembly manual is very vague. If you're not mechanically inclined, you may have a hard time putting it all together. That's my only complaint. It was easy to order and very fast shipping. A solid piece of machinery that cuts great, except for pick the chains off the back to prevent clumping. I think it was a fantastic purchase! Just make sure that you have gear oil and a good grease gun.

this is 1 of the better built mowers that i have seen without a bunch of idler pulleys to go bad like the county line mower from tractor supply (king cutter) this mower is built like my original mower deck that has lasted over 22 years that i never replaced even the belt it had eventually rusted out around the blade spindle and had to get another mower

Really nice mower, cuts nice. Found on issue that the wheels don't turn easy and tend to tear up grass. Resolved the issue by purchasing thrust bearings and washers which now allows the wheels to rotate easily. The wood pallet item shipped on was falling apart.
