Before I acquired the 66 in carbon steel cutting edge I was just a jobsite loser. People would point and laugh at my machinery that was lacking in high carbon properties and I would duck my head in feeling of shameful inadequacy. But now I'm jobsite tough guy with an inflated ego and a seriously impressive Toby Keith compact disc collection. Might as well call me corn pop because I'm one bad dude!

Straight forward, hardened carbon steel. I was able to weld the new edge to the original bucket, with a Hobart Mig Welder, wire feed/gas shielded. Used .035” Hobart ER70S-6 Solid Wire, Carbon Steel. Took 1 1/2 (2lb) Spools. A Stick Welder may be a little easier, with the thickness of the edge, but a Mig will work if you take your time.

This cutting edge is high quality and was easier to weld to the bucket of my I-H 3800 loader than the bucket was to prepare to receive it. (Old bucket... Not very straight!)

I welded this edge to a very bent bucket on a loader, I was able with clamps and presses to straighten it, so very strong carbon steel, thanks guys for a real description.
